Profitability throughout 2009
While the giants of the B2C video sector are struggling to balance their business model, Kewego, the European leader of B2B video on Internet, Intranet, mobile and screen networks, has announced net income of over €500,000 for 2009. This performance is all the more exceptional given last year's tough economic climate and no sign of profitability from any other video company.
15 million euros of R&D investment since 2003
Since its inception, the French company has invested over 15 million euros in research and development to develop innovative and effective video broadcasting and management solutions to companies, media groups and communications agencies. Kewego is unique on the market thanks to its distinct product that offers 360° video broadcasting via Internet, Intranet, mobile and screen networks.
450 customers worldwide
Supported by Banexi Ventures Partners and CDC Entreprises, Kewego has 450 customers in over 25 countries. The company, whose head office is in Paris, operates subsidiaries in Spain and Germany and employs a team of 60 media and video experts.
Prospects in 2010: Growth and innovation
This year, to cement the European leadership of Kewego, its two founders, Michel Meyer and Olivier Heckmann, both Internet pioneers, count on stepping up their efforts in the area of innovation and securing long-term profitability for the company.
“We are extending our range of advertising functions to help our customers monetize their entire video audience. At the same time, we are reinforcing our enterprise offer to guarantee profitable video communications and 360° broadcasting,” say the two directors. “As every year, satisfying our customers will be our priority in 2010.”
“We consider Kewego to be one of the most promising companies in our portfolio, it's one of our gems,” says Philippe Herbert at Banexi Ventures Partner.
“We are delighted to include a company like Kewego in our asset portfolio. Its objectives in 2009 were ambitious in a difficult year economically. By achieving profitability, they have proven the pertinence of their business model,” adds Christian Leonetti from CDC Entreprises.
